Hag stones are rocks with natural holes all the way through. They are created over thousands of years by sand, rocks and small sea creatures burying their way into the rocks surface with help from the sea.
When choosing a hag stone for yourself or a friend, take a couple of deep breaths and then move your focus through the pictures. Choose the hag stone/s you are most drawn to. And then read the caption and make sure you’re happy with the features.

1 - One large hole, two pin prick holes. One of which goes into the large hole. Some interesting markings and indentations.
2 - Really smooth on both sides. One large hole and two pin prick holes. Small indentations. Would be perfect to paint as its so smooth.
3 - Almost rectangular in shape. One large hole. Small crater. Some parts have small amounts of surface quartz. Great to paint on as very smooth.
4 - Three complete holes. Two of them go into each other. Really trip and fantastic hag stone.
5 - Triangular/heart in shape. One large hole. Two pin prick holes. Interesting markings and indentations. Could be used as a pendant for a necklace.
6 - Little ghost. One large hole. One half hole, not all the way through. Interesting markings. Very smooth.
7 - Smooth egg like shape. One large hole.
8 - One large hole, one pin prick hole (that I can see). Large interesting indentation, looks a bit like a mouth. Heart or Y indentation.
9 - One large hole. Two pin prick holes. Very smooth and flat, could definitely be painted on. Interesting marks and indentations. Tiny mushroom.
10 - One large hole. Five pin prick holes (I can see). Very tactile. Lots of beautiful indentations throughout. Very interesting shape.
They have traditionally been used as protection amulets. People have been known to carry them around for luck and safety. As well as hang them up around their home for protection.
